I'm alive!

Holy Moly.

I've been gone for a long time.

I apologize!

We don't have internet at our new place, so the only chance

I have to blog is when we're at the in-laws but 

typically when we're here we're always eating and enjoying

each other's company so I don't have much time to blog.

But I finally have a Saturday off from work so I put my day off to good use :)

Like the new layout?
I had some free time on my hands today.

Let's see, here's the low-down of what's new in the lives of the Hawkins clan:

1. New apartment. Super cute, smaller, but we love it. Great location and wonderful ward.

2. Tay and I are now fully employed! I'm working at a home decor/vinyl boutique in Bountiful

for about the last two months and Tay starts work at H&M on Monday!

3. We have 2 new additions to the family, Jack and Joey...

They're a bit on the boring side, mostly because we're not home a whole lot

so they haven't gotten used to us yet but hopefully we'll break them in.

4. We just made our first "big kid purchase" and bought a 2009 Silver Toyota Corolla.

We both fell instantly in love with it.
5. The new season of Gossip Girl has started...love.

I think that's about it in the way of big news other than things are going well for us!

Pinterest.

YAY!

I GOT A JOB!!

Just A Thought texted me this morning that said:

Congratulations, you got the job!

I am so thankful!

I know Heavenly Father's hand 

was certainly a factor in my success.

I got an apartment, a job, and a spicy new haircut

all in one week!

And my hubby will be home in just eight short days :)

Can't wait!

What a great week.

Can't wait to start my job, either!

Updates.

Blog-worthy recent updates: 

1. I finally found an apartment. It's in the basement of a house

and couldn't ask for anything more.

It's spacious, cute, and doesn't smell weird; thank the heavens.

2: I made my own pottery cups yesterday thanks to the Jodester. 

One for me, and one for Tay :)

3: It's been one week since I left Nebraska...feels like ages.

4: My adorable husband will be coming home in 

just 10 short days.

5: Still no job, but consistently searching; 

had 1 new job interview yesterday that sounds promising.

Jobs.

Holy macarole.

I have been sending resumes left and right!

I had two interviews last Thursday like I said in my last post.

I called on Saturday night to Hip&Humble and 

they said they'd call me on MONDAY because

the boss had just gotten back from NY.

So here it is, Monday morning, 10:30 a.m. and

I am impatiently awaiting their phone call.

(I know, I know, they're probably too busy to call me...but I can't wait around for forever!)

So, in the mean time, in case it doesn't work out,

I hopped on Craigs List and sent my resume to 

three different receptionist jobs.

One for a doctor's office which would be SO fun!

So we'll see if I hear back from them!

I'd love to work a receptionist job.

Good hours, good pay.

Probably a little hectic but I can handle hectic.

Believe me, I can handle hectic.

I want my baby to come home.

I wish I could just fall asleep tonight and he

would just be home.

I hate being away from him!

He's my everything.

When he's away I feel incomplete.

Hurry home, boo!

On a lighter note...

I'll be looking at our (potential) apartment today.

Can I get a woo woo?

It's not close to the Trax but...if nothing else

comes up, we'll just have to make it work!

Can't wait until I have a job.

A place to live.

And my cute little hubby home.

Then life will be perfect.

Goodbye, Nebraska.

So long, Nebraska.

Wednesday I packed up all of my things

and drove across Wyoming and back to good old Utah!

It was a long, treacherous drive 

and I had to leave my amazing, 

adorable, loving husband behind :(

I had two job interviews on Wednesday.

Both of which went quite well if I do say so myself.

I'm supposed to hear back from Hip and Humble today

and who knows when from Kid to Kid.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I landed one of them.

In the mean time I've been keeping up on 

apartment shopping as well.

Let's just say I've been keeping busy!

Along with all that, I got sick Wednesday night...

practically lost my voice yesterday and

the frog in my throat seems to think he's

found a new home.

Not very thoughtful if you ask me!

University of Utah.

This morning we found out Tay got accepted to the

University of Utah!

GO TAY!!

We are both so excited that everything is coming together.

I also got a call yesterday asking for me to come in for

an interview at Uptown Cheapskate

but since we're still here in Nebraska, I had to

let her know I couldn't do it right now.

She said to give her a call when we get

back, or she'll call me if she still has

openings so that's a plus!

It's a really cute shop, and located both in Salt Lake

and a new one opening up in Bountiful-

how more perfect could it be?!

Now we just need to find an apartment :)

Nebraska countdown: 22 days.

School countdown: 31 days.

Project Runway.

So I'm sitting in the hotel room

watching the new season of Project Runway

(which I'm super stoked about)

and really want to be best friends with Heidi Klum.

She's funny, smart, beautiful, fashionable, personable.

Yes, it's true, I have a girl crush.

Can't wait to see who "makes it work" as 

my good buddy Tim Gunn says.

So I finally found Tay's camera and discovered these long lost photos, along with some recent ones.

He's the cutest!

Also, look what came in the mail today!

My new toggle blazer and yellow high tops from Urban.

Happy friggin' birthday to me!!

So I applied online to a bunch of jobs in SLC today...

trying to get on top of that before we get home.

It will make life a lot easier.

We could really use your prayers in finding jobs&apartment

so please keep us in mind!

I love it.

The cheesy, greasy, warm, fluffy, garlic-y

Update From A Hotel Room.

Yes, I did say hotel room!

We are currently living in Lexington.

(also known to the locals as "Mexington"-you can imagine what that refers to)

It's small, with no mall or movie theater.

But our hotel room we are living in is nice

with a mini fridge and microwave

so at least we aren't starving!

Along with a little pool and hot tub.

The days go by fairly slowly around here

with Tay gone all day but I find things

to do to occupy my time.

I've been writing several articles a day for 

Mama Hawkins

which puts my writing skills to work

and I'm still loving to write

which is a good sign :)

So big news around the Hawkins household

(hotel-hold?)...

There is a possibility we will be moving back to

Salt Lake City instead of California this fall.

We have decided it would put us more on our feet

if we live in Salt Lake before venturing out to California.

Tay will be applying to the University of Utah

(I know, I know...I'm a disgrace to Utah State) 

as soon as possible and hopefully be taking classes this fall

then we will make our way to California when we have

our feet on the ground more to continue at FIDM.

As for me, I'm sticking with my online USU classes until

further notice.

Then maybe Weber...or the U if I can get in.

Big changes lie ahead, that's for sure.

Tay's doing great out here and sure is working his buns off.

And getting cuter everyday :)
I love him so much!!


Some other news I should probably catch you all up on:

we got a cat...
for 48 hours.

The most hectic, crazy 48 hours of my life.

The cat was psycho.

Okay, so she was a kitten and just wanted to play...

at THREE O'CLOCK in the morning

when Tay and I just wanted to sleep!

Sure, she was adorable...look:

But so not worth the trouble.

So, we say "alvederzane" to Beyonce aka: Lil' B

and get back to our 9+ hours of sleep instead of 4.

That's about it thus far!

My birthday was great on Monday.

I was able to spend the whole day with Tay

who got me a new white watch 

(YAY!) along with my white iPhone

back in April!

All-in-all it was a successful birthday of

Little Ceasars

Crazy Bread

Lost

&

Tay

What more could a girl ask for?

Tay's doing great with his selling

and I will start tomorrow.

I'm kinda nervous but everyone says I'll

do great, so we'll see!

I'm just excited to get out of the house!

I've had a lot of people ask how marriage is

lately, obviously.

And in answer to all of you out there still wondering...

It's absolutely wonderful!

I can't even explain how much I love it!

Being with the man I love 24/7 is seriously bliss.

He's everything I have wished for and more!

I've become quite the little cook, too.

I love cooking Tay dinner!

Sounds crazy, right?

I've had the opportunity to experiment

with several different recipes and have had 

a really positive response on all of them!

Can't wait to try out more :)

And I'll get better about updating you on how the

Hawkins marriage is going, don't worry.

Moab

So it's day three here in good ol' Moab.

It has been so so so great having Tay back!

I love that even when he leaves, it's like he

was never even gone!

Call me dramatic, but I don't know how I lived

a month without him!

He is my world!

I am so excited to be married to him in just four days :)

So, back to Moab...

It's wonderful to be here with all of his family

especially Mariah and Jered!

Today we got up and explored a little river near

our condo for a few hours.

We had quite the adventure!

Two more days here in Moab, then we're Bountiful bound.

After that we're hitting the ground running and 

aren't stopping til next week!

First up: Endowments.

Next: Wedding set-up.

Next: Marrrrrrrrrrrriage.

Finally: Cam's mission farewell.

What a crazy weekend!

But I want nothing more at this point than

to marry my prince charming :)

What a day.

Today's happenings:

Woke up with the world's worst headache.

Chills.

Upset stomach.

Got called into work, after calling my boss to say I was sick.

Stayed at work for literally 1 hour.

Ran to the Distribution Center to get my garments.

Came home to wonderful flowers from my amazing fiance :)

I always tell him when I'm not feeling well or

I'm missing him really bad to send me "flowers"

so he finds bouquets on Google and texts them to me

but this time they were real flowers!

I love him!

He is so thoughtful :)

TAY COMES HOME SATURDAY!!

Oh my goodness it seems like forever 

since we've seen each other!

I can't wait :)

Not sure how that would happen, but look what we got
